NEUROSOLVE^®
In clinical development as a neuro-protector for preventing the progression of glaucomatous optic nerve damage

Neurosolve^® is a compound for protecting the optic nerve from direct glaucoma damage. The optic nerve communicates light images from the eye to the brain. Damage to the nerve leads to irreversible blindness. There are nearly 67 million individuals with glaucoma worldwide. At present, there are no neuroprotectors available for glaucoma or any other type of optic nerve damage.

The Disease
Patients with glaucoma suffer from high pressure in the eye, loss of vision and blind spots created by the cupping of the optic nerve.

The Opportunity
All therapeutics available today are capable only of arresting the further loss of vision and do not restore lost sight.

The Solution
Results from clinical trials completed to date suggest that Neurosolve^® may stop and reverse some of the vision loss associated with glaucoma. Additional clinical trials are planned for 2009 to study Neurosolve^® for this indication.
